Does KORYO BOP run classes over school holidays? Taekwondo KORYO BOP is open all year, except for public holidays, the two week mid year break and the 3-4 week end of year Christmas break. Other cancellations will be listed in our newsletters.
What time do I have to be at the training? To all students. Please arrive 5 minutes before the training starts.
What if I have previous Taekwondo experience. Your previous belt ranking may be retained subject to approval. However, you may choose to start again from white belt and take away the pressure of performing to a higher level. If you have not trained for some time, you may find techniques have evolved and patterns may have changed. If you perform well at the grading tests, there is the possibility of being double promoted.
Do I have to book for a training? No, there is no need to book. Simply arrive at our centre to tryout. But in case of any sudden class cancellations or disruption, it is worthwhile to email, text or call Master Sonja. If you wanted to contact the coach beforehand, you can text or call their mobile (listed online). You can also email them.
May I watch a practice before I join? Yes! Prospective members are encouraged to watch or try out classes for two weeks. However, please contact us in advance so that we are expecting you.
What Do I have to wear? Sports wear is fine, such as tracksuit bottoms t- shirt and martial arts shoes or bare feet. Once you know you like it you can purchase one of our Koryobop Taekwondo dobok (Taekwondo uniform includes white belt and Koryobop batch). Available at your club.
Can I take classes with my child? Yes. In fact many families are finding Taekwondo to be the perfect family activity, combining an exciting workout with a new learning experience. You have your choice of attending Kids and Adults classses individually or coming together to our family classes. Either way you'll have a great time and create a special family bond.
How old do you have to be to train Taekwondo? We train students as young as 5 years old. You are never too old to start taekwondo, as long as you do not have existing joint or back problems. Properly taught, taekwondo does not usually create injuries, but it can exacerbate existing conditions.
I would like to have personal training? We offer the highest quality of professional fitness and martial arts training to our members. We design practical and safe programs to coincide with each client's specific goals. This special attention can help you to learn and progress faster and reach your fitness or martial arts related goals sooner!
Can I get a membership refund? As we commit in advance to securing training space (our primary operational expense), we cannot offer membership refunds. If you are unsure about your ability to train consistently, a one-month membership is recommended.
