    Beginners Taekwondo Program for Seniors 11 years and up . Suitable for all ages and all levels

    Duration: 1 hour

    Our Taekwondo program provides healthy physical activity, builds self confidence and teaches your child important leadership skills. Our Martial Arts training will help them to develop remarkable skills and is designed to improve the cardiovascular system, enhance overall flexibility, and increase mental focus. It is also designed to reduce the risk of injury from sports through proper body alignment and flexibility.

    Beginners Taekwondo Program for Kids​ and Family

    Duration: 1 hour

    Our Taekwondo program is right for you and your child - SAFE, organised and FUN, challenging with exciting games, learning and succeeding, meet new buddies.

    Scientific studies have shown that Taekwondo improves your child's concentration and prepares them to excel. Learn how to defend yourself & your family! So perhaps you’ve been practicing Martial Arts for awhile, and have been thinking about getting your kids on board. Or maybe your kids are already enrolled in a Martial Arts class, and you’re wondering if you should join them in picking up some self-defense skills. Well, we think that’s a fantastic idea, and you should definitely train together as a family!

    Martial Arts for Kids 7 to 11 years


    Beginners Taekwondo Program For Kids, World Class Program

    Duration: 1 hour

    Our Martial Arts programs promote an active lifestyle, but it also teaches self-control. Our program helps them stay in shape, and the boost in confidence benefits them at school, at home, and when they are socialising with friends.


    Kids love coming to our classes for a variety of reasons. They love learning how to effectively stop an attacker who is bigger than they are, but it’s so much more. Their balance improves, hand-eye coordination improves and their reflexes become faster, allowing them to perform better in all areas in their life. Parents love bringing their kids to our school because our curriculum teaches respect, discipline, and self-control. They will begin to accomplish better grades at school, treat their siblings with more respect and even start following direction more consistently. They will develop a drive to succeed in any situation that will help them in all areas of their lives for years to come.


    This program provides a stimulating environment for children to grow and develop into well rounded individuals. We emphasise focus and respect and encourage each and every student to reach their personal best! Whether your child is interested in the martial arts or you are looking for a fun & educational environment to build self confidence and focus, you will find our program is the right place for your child!

    Martial Arts for 4 & 5 & 6 years old Kids with parents


    6 months Little Kiwi's program. Beginners Program for Kids from 5 & 6 years

    Duration: 45 min

    We have especially designed the 6 month little Kiwi's programs for 5 & 6 year old children. This age group will be gradually introduced to Taekwondo in a fun and challenging way in a 6 months introductory program. After 3 month they will be able to grade for their white belt with one yellow stripe and after six month, they will be ready to grade for their white belt with two yellow stripes, the intermediate Kiwi class.


    After they have successfully completed the half year introductory program, they will be able to advance to the 6 months Little Tiger's program especially designed for them to be able to grade to yellow belt. After 3 months little Tigers class, they will be able to defend them self and perform more advanced kicking and blocking techniques, focus, balance and coordination and perform their first pattern Kibon Hanna. Children are taught genuine Taekwondo in structured classes, helping essential Taekwondo movements become second nature. By the end of the martial arts program, kids will have developed skills that will enable them to effectively engage in learning complex martial art drills.


    TAEBO & TAEKWON Fitness Program


    TAEBO & TAEKWON Fitness high performance program

    Duration: 30 minutes

    Combine the cardio and endurance benefits for the first 30 minutes and then end with with a total body strength circuit sure to get your metabolism soaring! Circuit training takes little time, is action packed, and trains all body parts in one session so it does not need to be done every day. It consists of performing multiple exercises on multiple body parts in a row with little rest in between. Combo's of Taekwondo kicking with boxing techniques, punching and hooks. Get maximum results in a minimum amount of time as you sculpt your muscles and blast the fat! Sure to get results! All levels are welcome!

    Koryobop student of the month demonstrate excellent behavior inside and outside the classroom, are well mannered, have a positive attitude towards others and towards learning, and are respectful to both peers and adults. Students of the month display excellent citizenship by aligning themselves with the Koryobop school-wide expectations of Respect, Responsibility, and Safety and consistently strive to achieve academic success. Lastly, students of the month show exemplary character through their compassion, honesty, trustworthiness, optimism, respect, courtesy, integrity, self control, indomitable spirit and loyalty while creating a positive school environment.

    Master Sonja Janssen

    (Qualified Master instructor)

    Qualified Master in Taekwondo, Hapkido (Self Defence), Tai-Chi & Qigong and TAEBO

    Sonja Janssen (5th DAN), Director of KORYO BOP, is a Kukkiwon and World class Taekwondo (WT) certified Black Belt Master in Taekwondo and in Hapkido (expert in Self Defence & weapon training), Master in Tai-Chi & Qigong. As part of her professional standards, she maintains a high level of fitness (running the half and full marathon and other distances), a sound knowledge of physical education and of martial arts. She began practicingTaekwondo at the age of seven.


    Sonja Janssen has a strong and sound Martial Arts background, with more than 30 years of professional experience in successfully teaching, coaching and practicing highly skilled Sparring, Poomsae, Hapkido, self-defence, demonstration & Tai-Chi - Qigong at International level. . She is a well respected member of the Omokoroa community, member of the Sport and Recreation Society, and of World Taekwondo, New Zealand Olympic committee, Sport New Zealand, and Kukkiwon.


    Master Sonja Janssen loves teaching. She trained and coached many athletes in preparation for several National and International championships in Poomsae and Sparring (kyorugi) which resulted in high rankings and many gold medalists. She competed world wide and Nationally in more than 200 competitions in sparring and Poomsae with very high standings. Her curriculum is fantastic! and we will have to dedicate another chapter for that. In addition to her successful Martial Arts career, she is extremely highly qualified - grade A-, certified International Sparring (kyorugi) Referee and 1st class Sparring Coach, certified by the Oceania Taekwondo Union (OTU) and by World Taekwondo (WT). She holds several Master Degrees - grade A- Bone & Marrow specialist, Senior Scientist, Master Degree in Business and Strategic Management, Public Relations, Sport Management and Physical Education.


    Master Sonja Janssen has a very calm and lovely character, very down to earth, and is evidently a strong and conscientious person with substantial experience functioning in the professional world at a very high level, she is a director, chair person in several organisations, an exceptional and outstanding chair and manager with excellent people skills. Master Sonja Janssen works very efficiently with excellent and professional management skills, including effective time management with strong organisational skills. She delivers to the highest standard, highly competent and very innovative. She can spot emerging problems before they are apparent to everyone and identify the root of the problem and moreover she is very resourceful with excellent troubleshooting skills. She tackles responsibilities with spirit and sophistication, great analytical skills, interacting with everyone in an affective and responsible manner and moreover she has a lovely and cheerful character. She gets along well with everyone.


    Prior in her early teens, she was trained by Grandmaster Ben Oude Luttikhuis (8th Dan WT Black Belt).

    He received the highest honour in the Hall Of Fame, Kukkiwon Seoul (South-Korea) for his dedication and hard work as the ambassador of Taekwondo. Grand Master Ben Oude Luttikhuis soon discovered this very talented young lady, trained and prepared her for sparring competitions, which she completed successfully Sadly Grand Master Ben passed away in Korea after he received the highest honour for his contribution in Taekwondo in the “Hall of Fame"in Korea. Master Sonja Janssen's technical poomsae & sparring education was furthered by the legendary Grand MasterJafar Zareei (8th Dan WT Black Belt) from the Netherlands. Grandmaster Zareei received the highest honour in the “Hall of Fame for promoting the Taekwondo sport to a very high and professional level”. He guided and coached Master Sonja Janssen.


    Thanks to these two fantastic Grand Masters, Master Sonja Janssen managed a fantastic Sparring and Poomsae curriculum, competing nationally and worldwide, representing New Zealand and prior The Netherlands, in sparring and Poomsae competitions resulting in many gold medals and trophies with high standings and two Master awards.

    12x National champion for several years and 7x gold medallist internationally, 1 x bronze medallist at the world championship and European champion title. She competed in more than 300 competitions Nationally and Internationally with 2x Grand Champion International titles in Great Britain and in the Netherlands, best of females in Sparring and Poomsae.

    Master Sonja Janssen received two awards for being the best female athlete in Poomsae and Sparring internationally and Nationally.
